Love One had the honor of hosting the 2019 DFCS Christmas Party earlier this month. The annual DFCS Christmas party serves children in foster care and their foster families. Children and their foster families were showered with love, gifts, and a fun night out.
Compassion Christian Church, Manna, Love One, The Foster Care Association, and DFCS all worked together to pull off this wonderful event. From live entertainment, to cookie decorating, making ornaments, dinner, and family photos, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
The children were delighted and surprised to see Elsa, Spiderman & even Santa show up to greet them! A special thank you to our live entertainment: Savannah Arts Academy & Expressions of Faith Praise Kids. Savannah Arts Academy put on A Charlie Brown Christmas play, while Expressions of Faith delighted the young children with dancing and some puppeteers. The kids were dancing along and it was beautiful to see the joy on their faces. The evening came to a close with Santaʼs arrival and the elves passing out presents! How sweet it was to see these incredible children and families loved on by so many people from our community.
All of the children walked away with smiles on their faces and arms overflowing with presents. It truly was a special night. Foster families are stronger and healthier when they are loved on and supported well. I canʼt thank our supporters enough for making this event possible. What a privilege it is to help children and foster families feel special and loved at this time of year.
We are so blessed to be a part of a community that cares!
