As we prepare to close the chapter on this year, we are reminded of the countless ways God has worked through Love One Ministry to make a difference in the lives of children and families. The holidays are a time to pause and focus on what matters most. With this in mind, we’ve decided to cancel our December Parent Support Group to allow you space to celebrate, rest, and reconnect.

However, we understand that for many of you the work of fostering or adopting doesn’t pause for the holidays. If you need additional training hours, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are thrilled to announce that Love One Ministry is embracing a transformative step forward in our mission to support kinship, foster, and adoptive families through the introduction of the National Training & Developmental Curriculum (NTDC). Recently, our dedicated trainers, Tori Bryant and Dawn Fegel, participated in intensive training sessions from September 9 to September 13 in Savannah, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to implement this innovative program.

This new curriculum replaces the previous IMPACT model for pre-service training, bringing with it a refreshing focus on trauma-informed parenting. With an emphasis on understanding the emotional and psychological needs of children in foster care, the NTDC curriculum is designed to empower parents with effective strategies and insights that can make a profound difference in the lives of these children.

Key Highlights of the NTDC:

• 30 Hours of Comprehensive Training: This extensive training program ensures that participants are well-prepared and knowledgeable, fostering an environment of understanding and support.
• Trauma-Informed Approach: By prioritizing a trauma-informed methodology, the curriculum aims to equip foster and adoptive parents with the skills to nurture children who have faced adversity, helping them heal and thrive.
• Launch in January 2024: We are excited to start running this new curriculum in January, providing invaluable resources to families who open their hearts and homes to children in need.

We believe that every child deserves a safe, loving environment, and this new curriculum is a crucial step towards achieving that goal. Tori and Dawn are committed to sharing their newly acquired knowledge with our community, and we can’t wait for you to experience the benefits of this impactful training.

We are still glowing from the incredible Hope & Homes Dinner and Auction, held at the beautiful Red Gate Farms! Under twinkling lights and a starry Savannah sky, our community came together to make a lasting impact for foster and adoptive families.

The evening began with an exciting silent auction, where guests had the opportunity to bid on unique and meaningful items, all generously donated by local businesses and individuals with hearts for fostering. This auction raised essential funds that will directly support Love One Ministry’s efforts to fill the gaps for foster and adoptive families. From one-of-a-kind experiences to carefully crafted goods, the auction was a smashing success, thanks to your generous support!

Following the auction, we enjoyed a beautiful dinner and gathered together to hear from our speaker. The Red Gate Farms venue was simply breathtaking, and the meal filled the air with warmth, conversation, and laughter. It was a wonderful opportunity for guests to come together and reflect on the difference their contributions are making in the lives of children and families.

We were profoundly touched by the speakers who courageously shared their personal journeys of fostering and adoption. Their heartfelt stories offered a powerful glimpse into how Love One Ministry has transformed lives and instilled hope in countless families. Splash in the Boro Family Day was an absolute delight, bringing together foster and adoptive families for a day filled with fun and connection. The sun was shining, the water was cool, and the smiles were endless as children and parents alike splashed, played, and created unforgettable memories.

From the exhilarating water slides to the lazy river, every corner of the park echoed with the sounds of pure happiness. Our families enjoyed a much-needed day of relaxation and fun, strengthening the bonds that hold us together. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, forming new friendships and sharing in the joy of the day.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this day so special. Your laughter and love made Splash in the Boro Family Day a huge success. Summer is here, and we’re thrilled to announce a special Family Day at Splash in the Boro! We’re leaning towards a Saturday event in July, based on the feedback we’ve received so far. Only a handful of people have expressed interest, but we’re sure this event will be a blast!

• 🏊‍♀️ Activities: Enjoy a fun-filled day with family and friends, featuring water attractions and activities for all ages!
