We are thrilled to announce that Love One Ministry is embracing a transformative step forward in our mission to support kinship, foster, and adoptive families through the introduction of the National Training & Developmental Curriculum (NTDC). Recently, our dedicated trainers, Tori Bryant and Dawn Fegel, participated in intensive training sessions from September 9 to September 13 in Savannah, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to implement this innovative program.
This new curriculum replaces the previous IMPACT model for pre-service training, bringing with it a refreshing focus on trauma-informed parenting. With an emphasis on understanding the emotional and psychological needs of children in foster care, the NTDC curriculum is designed to empower parents with effective strategies and insights that can make a profound difference in the lives of these children.
Key Highlights of the NTDC:
- 30 Hours of Comprehensive Training: This extensive training program ensures that participants are well-prepared and knowledgeable, fostering an environment of understanding and support.
- Trauma-Informed Approach: By prioritizing a trauma-informed methodology, the curriculum aims to equip foster and adoptive parents with the skills to nurture children who have faced adversity, helping them heal and thrive.
- Launch in January 2024: We are excited to start running this new curriculum in January, providing invaluable resources to families who open their hearts and homes to children in need.
We believe that every child deserves a safe, loving environment, and this new curriculum is a crucial step towards achieving that goal. Tori and Dawn are committed to sharing their newly acquired knowledge with our community, and we can’t wait for you to experience the benefits of this impactful training.
Stay Tuned!
As we prepare to launch this curriculum, be on the lookout for our upcoming training schedule. We encourage all interested families and caregivers to join us in this journey of growth and understanding.
Together, we can create a brighter future for children in foster care and support the amazing families who welcome them into their lives.
